KoffieNews

Features
Written in Java
Since KoffieNews uses the Java programming language, this software can run on any system which can run a Java VM, including Windows, Linux and MacOS.

Decoding of multipart B-News and yEnc attachments
KoffieNews can decode attachments stored in multiple newsarticles encoded in the B-News and yEnc format. It also groups binaries in a volume when possible.

Filtering of newsarticles
KoffieNews can filter newsarticles according to their subject and size. You can also specify to display only multipart, multivolume and/or complete downloads. In the alt.binari newsgroup, messages are grouped according to their prefix (POST, REQ, INT...)

Saved queues
KoffieNews will save the Commands, Downloads and Uploads queue when exiting the program.

Multiple socket connections
KoffieNews will use all available socket connections to a server. Thus, if a server allows two socket connections, two commands/downloads/uploads can be executed at the same time.
System Requirements
  • 256 MB RAM minimum (512 MB recommended)
  • 500 MHz CPU minimum (1 GHz recommended)
  • a (preferably fast) internet connection
If you have a slow computer, it is recommended not to display the Commands, Downloads or Uploads queues too often as they require quite some CPU power to be displayed.
